Painting the Nursery

Filed under: BLV, Family, House — vaughnaustin @ 3:08 pm

We’re excited to be painting the nursery! We’re less than three months from the due date and things are moving right along. We hope to be done painting this week. Our border is on order and should be here in a few weeks. We’re going with a nautical theme — notice the two different shades of blue for water and sky — and Lance is going to sponge paint some clouds on the ceiling. It’s the brightest room in the house!! I wonder if we should paint the ceiling fan blue, too!?

Our Mission Workers, Megan & Lyndi

Filed under: Christianity, Family — vaughnaustin @ 6:11 pm

My parents took this photo of our nieces Megan (left) and Lyndi (right) while they were visiting Hawaii in the fall last year. At the time of the photo, the girls were 15 and 16, respectively. Now they’re a year older and serving the Lord on missions around the world. Please keep them in your prayers.

Megan is in Sweetwater, Arizona at a Navajo Reservation. She’s working with families, organizing activities, lessons, Bible School, etc. She’ll be home July 30th.

As I write this, Lyndi is flying to Taiwan on her way to Cambodia. She will be working primarily at orphanages where she will be conducting similar outreach programs for underprivileged children and AIDS babies. She’s scheduled to come back home August 15th.

Jesus said to his disciples, “The harvest is so great, but the workers are so few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send out more workers for his fields.” Matthew 9:37-38

Our Heavenly Father, please watch over our beloved as they serve You and help spread Your Word. Protect them and give them strength, Lord. We ask that you guide their actions, their words and their hearts. Return them home safely, Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Lea’s Knees

Filed under: Family — vaughnaustin @ 5:47 pm

Lance’s Mom, Lea, has made it home successfully after yet another short stay in the hospital. Praise the Lord, this one was planned.

She has had issues with arthritis in her right knee for several years and was planning on getting it replaced before the whole Hartford incident. After falling last Thanksgiving, it became clear that she needed to replace the knee as soon as possible.

Thank you for everyone who have been praying for her. Now that she is home, we continue to pray that God will give her the strength and perseverance to stick to her physical therapy program. Stay updated on her progress by subscribing to my father’s blog, God’s Woodshed.

We sent her a beautiful English Garden bouquet to celebrate her return home.

Filed under: Music — vaughnaustin @ 6:58 am

I just released my latest music mix, unfold. It’s full of great tunes that we played at our wedding rehearsal dinner last year and some that I’ve discovered since. This is my eighth mix in the last six years and my last one for a while… we’ve got a baby on the way!!

I hope you enjoy the mix. You can download it at himhalo.com. My other mixes can be viewed on the Elvie Music Mixes page. I hope to spend some time remastering my previous mixes and posting them for download. Stay tuned!

Back Home Again

Filed under: Vacation — vaughnaustin @ 4:13 am

Yes! We made it home!! One month later!

Just kidding… Everything is going well! We had a quick four-day trip to Cancun and really enjoyed the opportunity to unlax and rewind. We’re back and suddenly overwhelmed taking care of everything that needs to be taken care of between now and then. And we all know what then is. See you soon!
